During the Summer Game Fest 2023, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment made an exciting announcement: Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world adventure set in the beloved Star Wars universe.
As fans eagerly await its release, many are curious about how this thrilling game fits into the established canon of the franchise. Let’s delve into the key details we know so far.
A Timeframe Between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi
Star Wars Outlaws takes place in the timeframe between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. This period provides an intriguing backdrop for the game’s narrative, offering players the opportunity to explore the galaxy during a pivotal moment in the Star Wars saga.
In Star Wars Outlaws, players assume the role of Kay Vess, an outlaw seeking a fresh start and freedom alongside her trusted companion, Nix. However, their pursuit of a new life catapults them into the ranks of the most wanted criminals in the galaxy. It’s an epic journey filled with danger, thrilling encounters, and opportunities for redemption.
Vast Planets and Speeder Travel
Throughout your adventure, you will traverse multiple expansive planets in your quest. Thanks to the availability of speeders, you’ll have the means to swiftly navigate the diverse landscapes, ensuring that you never miss out on an exciting opportunity or thrilling mission.
Unlike the iconic Jedi warriors, Kay Vess relies on her skill with a blaster and various technological aids for combat. Engaging in intense battles, you’ll utilize these tools to outmaneuver and overcome adversaries.
If direct confrontation is not your preferred approach, you can employ distractions and stealth tactics to sneak past enemies unnoticed. Prepare for exhilarating dogfights in space as well, as you navigate the stars in epic space combat sequences.
No Star Wars adventure would be complete without a memorable droid companion. In Star Wars Outlaws, players will meet Nothing, a resourceful and loyal droid. Nothing’s unique abilities prove invaluable during combat, as he can distract enemies or retrieve fallen foes’ weapons, aiding Kay Vess in her daring escapades.
Risky Missions and Faction Reputation
Star Wars Outlaws revolves around undertaking high-risk missions for various crime syndicates. In the captivating announcement trailer, the game hinted at the prospect of participating in the “biggest robbery in history.”
As you progress, you will encounter moments where you can shape Kay Vess’s journey through dialogue choices and actions. These decisions will directly impact your reputation with different factions, further immersing you in the dynamic world of Star Wars Outlaws.
Prepare to venture into the expansive universe of Star Wars Outlaws, where your choices, battles, and alliances will shape the fate of Kay Vess and her quest for freedom.
