Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope debuted on the market in late October last year. This production got a warm reception from both gamers and industry media, as evidenced by the average ratings on Metacritic.
It turns out, though, the title did not meet Ubisoft’s expectations, as the French company announced in its latest financial report.
While Ubisoft did not reveal specific sales results for Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, but the publisher stressed that they did not meet expectations.
The French company is “surprised” by this state of affairs. And the French company also pointed out that despite high ratings and good feedback from users, the game received weaker interest both in the final weeks of 2022 and earlier this month.
It’s possible that the lack of commercial success of Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope will lead Ubisoft to abandon the brand, and players won’t have the opportunity to play the next installment of Mario and the Rabbids’ adventures.
Let’s recall that Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is available exclusively on Nintendo Switch. The mentioned production is a sequel to Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, which, just like the sequel, was also warmly received by both players and industry media.
