4A Games has been hard at work on the latest installment of the Metro series for some time now. Although they have yet to officially reveal the game, insiders have been able to provide some information on the matter.

It’s believed that the ongoing war in Ukraine has contributed to the developers’ decision to keep things under wraps for the time being.

Metro Exodus was released to critical acclaim in 2019, receiving a strong rating of 83%. The studio has since confirmed that they are working on a sequel, but details have remained scarce.

However, according to Tom Henderson’s sources, the wait for an official presentation may soon be over. Apparently, the new Metro game is now fully playable, and a presentation in 2023 is looking increasingly likely. If everything goes according to plan, the game may even be ready for release by 2024.

Metro Exodus 2 Is “Fully Playable” According to an Insider

While we don’t know much about the upcoming game, the creators are expected to stick to the classic Metro formula.

Players can look forward to a mix of stealth, crafting, looting, and more. According to Insider Gaming, the game is set to begin with a dream sequence, followed by gameplay that will be instantly recognizable to fans of the series.

Of course, it’s impossible to say exactly when we’ll get to see Metro Exodus 2 for ourselves. But it’s reassuring to know that 4A Games is making progress despite the challenges they’ve faced. With any luck, the next chapter of the Metro series will be just as impressive as its predecessors.
