Japanese publisher Capcom recently announced that it experienced the most lucrative period in its history in terms of profit and game sales. Over the last fiscal year, which concluded on March 31, players purchased a record-breaking 41.7 million copies of Capcom games.
This figure is a significant increase from the previous year, when the company sold 32.6 million games. Revenue reached $935 million, a 14.4% year-over-year increase, while net profit amounted to $273 million, marking a 12.9% year-over-year growth.

Several notable releases contributed to Capcom’s outstanding performance:
- Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak (5.45 million copies)
- Resident Evil 4 Remake (3.75 million copies in the first week after release)

Moreover, Capcom reported strong sales for older games during the last fiscal year, including Monster Hunter Rise (3.7 million), Resident Evil 2 remakes (2.25 million), and Resident Evil 3 (1.95 million). Interestingly, digital purchases accounted for a staggering 90% of total sales.
Six Consecutive Years of Capcom’s Prosperity
Capcom, one of the oldest and most esteemed publishers in the gaming industry, has now recorded record-breaking profits for six consecutive years. This impressive streak follows a challenging period between 2000 and 2010 when many of its projects fell short of both player and critic expectations.
