Set against the backdrop of the series’ signature eerie atmosphere, “Silent Hill: The Short Message” introduces players to Anita, a young girl drawn into a decrepit apartment complex. Guided by cryptic messages from her friend Maya, Anita’s purpose in this grim setting remains shrouded in mystery. The game delves into a first-person horror experience, a departure from the third-person perspective traditionally associated with Silent Hill titles.
The gameplay trailer reveals a tense, claustrophobic environment where Anita is relentlessly pursued by a monstrous entity through dimly lit corridors. The game appears to tackle dark themes, including bullying and suicide, evident in the haunting graffiti and notes that adorn the walls of the building. Additionally, “Silent Hill f” is in the pipeline, featuring a storyline penned by Ryukishi07, the creator of “Higurashi When They Cry.” The State of Play presentation also tantalized fans with a glimpse of the much-anticipated “Silent Hill 2” remake.
