Arrowhead Studios is set to release a wealth of new content for their popular co-op shooter, Helldivers 2, in the form of the Cutting Edge battle pass. Launching on March 14, this premium battle pass will introduce an array of new weapons and armor that will help players turn the tide against the relentless robot and bug menace threatening the galaxy.
The Cutting Edge battle pass brings three new primary weapons to the fray, each with its own unique properties and playstyle. The LAS-16 Sickle is a burst-firing laser rifle that forgoes the need for reloading, instead relying on a heat management system.
The SG-8P Punisher Plasma shotgun fires explosive plasma rounds that can be just as deadly to allies as they are to enemies, adding an element of risk and reward to its use. Finally, the ARC-12 Blitzer allows players to project a close-range arc of lightning or charge it up for powerful, long-range bolts, perfect for taking out multiple targets at once.
In addition to these primary weapons, the battle pass also introduces the LAS-7 Dagger pistol, a laser sidearm that can slice through enemies with ease, and the G-23 Stun Grenade, providing players with new tactical options in combat.
EX Series Armor: Insulated and Innovative
Alongside the new weapons, the Cutting Edge battle pass brings three new pieces of EX Series armor to Helldivers 2. The EX-03 Prototype 3 features a rubber underlayer for insulation, protecting the wearer from the armor’s shocking 400,000-volt wires.
The EX-16 Prototype 16 generates a strong magnetic field through its electric arc, making it inadvisable to use near stapled paperwork. Finally, the EX-00 Prototype X represents the culmination of billions of Super Credits and over a decade of research, promising to create the “Soldier of Tomorrow.”

To access this new content, players will need to purchase the Cutting Edge battle pass using 1000 Super Credits, which can be earned in-game or purchased for $10. Unlike other games, battle passes in Helldivers 2 (known as Warbonds) do not expire, allowing players to unlock the content at their own pace without the pressure of limited-time events.
As Helldivers 2 continues to evolve and expand, the Cutting Edge battle pass promises to inject fresh excitement into the game, providing players with new tools to wage war against the alien threat and spread managed democracy throughout the galaxy.
