Helldivers 2 Players Face Toughest Challenge Yet as Terminids and Automatons Attack

Just a day after racking up an astonishing 2 billion Terminid kills, the forces of Super Earth in Helldivers 2 are facing their most daunting test yet. The game’s latest “Major Order” event tasks players with defending at least 10 planets across both the Terminid and Automaton sectors simultaneously.

Despite the recent staggering extermination numbers against the insectoid Terminid threat, the alien invaders have regrouped and are now attacking Super Earth-controlled planets alongside the robotic Automaton forces.

Arrowhead Game Studios, the developers of Helldivers 2, have just launched the new Major Order event, which will run until Wednesday, April 24th. The objective is clear but extremely challenging: successfully defend and maintain control over 10 planets while facing offensives from two formidable enemy factions.

2 billion bugs dead in less than a day.

Helldivers, Terminid planets run red with liberty thanks to this inspiring display of pre-emptive self-defence.

“Both the Terminids and Automatons are attacking. Defend our territory on both fronts,” reads the event’s description, underscoring the gravity of the situation.

As players make progress on liberating planets, the production rates of the Terminids and Automatons will slow, but coordinated efforts will be vital to outpace the enemy’s counterattacks.

Adding an extra layer of difficulty, Helldivers 2 players have historically struggled with effective teamwork and coordination, often leading to overstretched and compromised defenses.

The new Major Order could potentially feature the recently introduced Automaton defense missions, which have been well-received by the community for their engaging gameplay.

With the odds stacked against them, Helldivers will need to bring their best gear and strategies to the fight. Arrowhead has recommended that players consult the game’s best weapons and armor guides to ensure they are optimally equipped for the harrowing battles ahead.

As the galactic war rages on, the forces of Super Earth must once again answer the call and rise to the challenge, defending their territory against an unprecedented onslaught from two deadly foes.

With the fate of entire planets hanging in the balance, teamwork, skill, and perseverance will be essential for achieving victory in what may be Helldivers 2’s most challenging Major Order yet.
