Microsoft has pulled back the curtain on the next batch of games headed to Xbox Game Pass, and it’s a stacked lineup led by the highly-anticipated Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. The Ninja Theory-developed action-adventure epic will arrive day one on the subscription service across cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X/S platforms on May 21.
Hellblade II isn’t the only major release joining Game Pass next month. The just-released EA Sports NHL 24 will hit the cloud gaming library on May 16 as an EA Play perk for subscribers. Multiplayer fantasy brawler Immortals of Aveum is also making its Game Pass debut day one across cloud, PC, and console the same day.
Other notables being added in May include the harrowing first-person horror game Chants of Sennaar (May 15), co-op moving game Moving Out 2 (May 28), and the critically-acclaimed indie hit Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons which is available right now.
Rounding out the bevy of new Game Pass arrivals are Humanity from celebrated developer Enhance Games (May 30), throwback soulslike Lords of the Fallen (May 30), quirky alien sim Galacticare (May 23), and more.
However, Microsoft’s subscription rotation means several titles will depart the library as well. On May 31, Game Pass loses Chicory: A Colorful Tale, Farworld Pioneers, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle, Pac-man Museum Plus, Little Witch in the Woods, and Railway Empire II.
The jam-packed May slate for Game Pass further bolsters the service’s value proposition with an enviable assortment of brand new games, hit sports sims, acclaimed indies, and marquee first-party releases like Hellblade II which is sure to turn heads.
Senua’s Saga continues the story from Ninja Theory’s original 2017 masterpiece Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, which earned widespread critical praise for its mature storytelling and creativity in depicting psychosis. The sequel appears poised to raise the bar even higher with grander scope and ambition.
For Xbox fans and Game Pass subscribers, the upcoming month is shaping up to deliver a serious embarrassment of riches spanning multiple genres and audiences. The staggeringly robust lineup should provide more than enough new content to keep gamers busy all throughout May and beyond.
