You guys isn’t even gonna believe who made a surprise appearance in the “Star Wars: The Acolyte” finale – none other than the legendary Sith Lord Darth Plagueis himself! Even though it was just a brief scene, fans are freaking out cause this guy has been such a big deal in the Star Wars universe for years.
Plagueis is famous for being able to create life and even cheat death using the Force. He gets mentioned all the way back in Revenge of the Sith, as the master of Emperor Palpatine. So seeing him finally show up in live action after all this time is wild!
The show seems to be taking some cues from the non-canon Legends stories about Plagueis too. Like having him be a Muun, the same alien species the books described. This has fans wondering how else the TV series might blend the old EU lore with current Star Wars canon.
With The Acolyte set 100 years before The Phantom Menace, there’s tons of time to explore Plagueis’ backstory and his early relationship with Palpatine. I’m dying to see if they delve into his experiments manipulating midichlorians and quest for immortality. Especially since the show introduced these witches who can magically create life too!
We may not know yet if the show gets renewed for season 2. But either way, that Plagueis cameo has sparked countless new theories online about how he could influence the future of the Sith. Fingers crossed we get to learn more about his mysterious past very soon!
