Marvel Television has paused development on Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc., adjusting its production lineup as the studio focuses on its next phase. These projects had been in development but were never officially approved for production. The shift follows the release of Captain America: Brave New World and ongoing preparations for Avengers: Doomsday.
The Nova series had been moving forward with writers and a showrunner attached, though casting had not begun. The character’s connection to the Nova Corps, introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy, made it a project of interest, but no further expansion will take place at this time.
Strange Academy was planned as a series featuring Wong (Benedict Wong) training young sorcerers. Wong has appeared in multiple Marvel projects, including Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. With the series no longer proceeding, no details have been shared about the character’s next appearance.
Terror, Inc. was based on a comic featuring an antihero capable of integrating body parts from others into his own form. No information had been revealed about casting or creative teams.
Marvel Television continues to move forward with several other projects. Ironheart will introduce Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), who was first seen in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Wonder Man, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, remains in development. Daredevil: Born Again is set to premiere on Disney+ on March 4.
Charlie Cox, who leads Daredevil: Born Again, has dismissed speculation about appearing in Avengers: Doomsday. A fitness account recently shared an image of Cox training, suggesting he was preparing for the next Avengers film. Cox clarified in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that his training was for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, which begins filming next month.
“I was there for Christmas with my family. And on the last day, they asked if they could take a picture with me, which we did,” Cox said. “I had said to them, ‘I’m getting ready to play Daredevil,’ ’cause I am! I’m getting ready to play Daredevil in season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again.”
The rumor spread online, with fans speculating about Daredevil’s involvement in Avengers: Doomsday. Cox contacted Marvel Studios to clarify that he had never made such a statement.
While not confirmed for an Avengers project, Cox expressed interest in joining future films. “I would love to be in one of the Avengers films, or another Spider-Man, or something like that,” he said. “Over the years, I have become a geeky fan of the character, and I weirdly, for the character’s sake, feel like it’d be really cool for him to get that kind of upgrade.”
Even without an Avengers appearance, Cox’s time as Daredevil continues, with Daredevil: Born Again set to introduce more characters from Marvel’s street-level heroes.
