A24 has set a February 20, 2026 theatrical date for Glen Powell’s next feature, while quietly rebranding the project from “Huntington” to “How to Make a Killing.” The studio confirmed the title change after a teaser began appearing in cinemas ahead of Powell’s new release “The Running Man,” catching audiences before any online rollout. Some industry listings still show February 27 in a few territories, but recent studio-facing materials point to the February 20 slot.
Written and directed by John Patton Ford, the filmmaker behind “Emily the Criminal,” the movie is billed as a darkly comic revenge story. Powell plays Becket Redfellow, an heir cut off from a wealthy family who turns ruthless in a bid to reclaim his inheritance. Margaret Qualley and Ed Harris co-star, with Jessica Henwick, Topher Grace, Zach Woods, Raff Law, and Bill Camp filling out the ensemble.
The film was first announced in 2024 under the “Huntington” name, described then as a fast, violent satire about class privilege and entitlement. Ford has said the script takes loose inspiration from the 1949 British classic “Kind Hearts and Coronets,” translating its aristocratic murder farce into a modern American setting. Production shot in Cape Town in mid-2024 with StudioCanal financing alongside A24.
The retitle appears aimed at sharpening the film’s pitch for a wide audience. “Huntington” offered little genre signal, while “How to Make a Killing” leans into the story’s inheritance-and-homicide hook. The stealth trailer drop fits A24’s recent habit of testing tone in theaters before a full marketing push, and it arrives as Powell’s star profile rises through back-to-back studio releases.
The February corridor has become a reliable space for adult-leaning thrillers and off-beat comedies, giving the film a runway away from holiday franchises. A24 has not yet released footage online or announced a festival plan, but the title change and date lock suggest a campaign will ramp up early next year.
