Fortnite will open its gates to Camp Half-Blood next week, as Disney launches a new creative island, Percy Jackson: Siege of Monsters, on December 9, one day before season two of Percy Jackson and the Olympians premieres on streaming. The experience is designed as a playable companion to the series, drawing directly from Rick Riordan’s novels and the Disney+ adaptation.
Built with Unreal Editor for Fortnite by the UEFN studio Gauntlet, the island drops players into a sprawling version of Camp Half-Blood, the training ground for demigods. New arrivals choose cabins, discover which Olympian god claims them, unlock divine abilities and team up with other players to defend the grounds. Design details mirror key locations from the show, including the archery field, climbing wall and combat arena, while the main quest sends players across the Sea of Monsters to battle the Minotaur, Laistrygonian giants and a two-phase boss fight against Scylla and Charybdis.
Executive producer Dan Shotz said the team worked closely with Disney to translate the series into an interactive space that still feels rooted in the books. He described seeing Percy’s world inside Fortnite as “a dream come true,” and promised an experience where fans “get claimed by an Olympian god, go on a quest and fight iconic monsters,” arguing that the detailed build honors both TV viewers and long-time readers.
Actors Walker Scobell and Aryan Simhadri pushed early for a Fortnite tie-in, telling interviewers they had been lobbying producers since season one to bring their characters into the game. Scobell leaned into the crossover with a joke that he is happy to be remembered as “the guy from Fortnite,” a line that has already started circulating among fans sharing early clips and screenshots. Players will encounter in-game versions of Percy, Annabeth and Grover, who hand out side quests tied to moments from the show’s first two seasons.
Season two of Percy Jackson and the Olympians lands December 10 and adapts The Sea of Monsters, sending Percy and his friends on a quest for the Golden Fleece while Camp Half-Blood comes under threat. The series has become one of Disney+’s key family franchises, already renewed for a third season and decorated with Children’s and Family Emmy wins.
The Percy Jackson island arrives as Disney deepens a $1.5 billion partnership with Epic Games to build a persistent entertainment universe inside Fortnite, following this fall’s Disneyland Game Rush activation. While Siege of Monsters is a creator-made map rather than an in-game event from Epic itself, it reflects the same strategy: use Fortnite’s massive reach to extend Disney brands into interactive spaces where viewers can play with stories between episodes.
