“Colin From Accounts” will wrap up its run with an eight-episode third season, its stars and co-creators confirmed this week, closing the book on the Australian rom-com that grew from a Binge original into a global streaming hit.
Harriet Dyer and Patrick Brammall, who play mismatched Sydney couple Ashley and Gordon and also write and produce the series, shared the news alongside production company Easy Tiger and Australian streamer Binge, which set a July 27 premiere date for the new season.
“Creatively it feels like the right time to say goodbye to ‘Colin From Accounts’ after three seasons,” the pair said in a statement, adding that writing all 24 episodes and working with their cast and crew had meant everything to them. Dyer and Brammall are married in real life.
The final season picks up after Gordon’s botched marriage proposal, following the couple as they navigate whether to reunite or let go, with the family dog they adopted, Colin, still tugging at the emotional center of the story. Work stress, family friction and new relationships complicate the question further. Newcomers to the cast include Thomas Cocquerel, Nikki Shiels and Mark Trevorrow, joining returning players Helen Thomson, Darren Gilshenan, Virginia Gay and Celeste Barber, among others.
The series debuted in Australia in 2024 before crossing over to Paramount+ in the U.S. in November 2023 with an eight-episode opening season, followed by a second season in September 2024. It built a devoted following on both sides of the Pacific, airing on the BBC in the U.K. and holding a perfect critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. Paramount+ renewed the show for a third season last year, with production wrapping in Australia this spring.
In Australia, the first two episodes of the closing season arrive July 27 on Binge and Foxtel On Demand, with the remaining six rolling out weekly. A U.S. premiere date on Paramount+ has not yet been announced, though the streamer’s pattern with prior seasons suggests an American debut sometime after the Australian rollout concludes.
Trent O’Donnell directs four of the season’s episodes, with Madeleine Dyer helming the other four. Easy Tiger Productions and CBS Studios co-produce the series.
