Apple Original Films’ The Gorge has set a new record as the most-watched film debut in Apple TV+ history. Directed by Scott Derrickson, the thriller stars Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy as rival guardians overseeing a mysterious gorge. Their relationship evolves as they uncover the truth about what lies beneath.
Apple has not disclosed exact viewership figures but confirmed that The Gorge surpassed all previous film launches on the platform. The film outperformed Wolfs, the Jon Watts-directed project starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt, which had initially been slated for a theatrical release before moving to streaming. Apple reported a significant increase in global viewership following The Gorge’s February 14 debut, with an 80% rise in new subscribers over the weekend.

Teller and Taylor-Joy play highly skilled operatives tasked with guarding the world from a hidden danger within the gorge. The film is written by Zach Dean and produced by Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger, along with Derrickson, C. Robert Cargill, Sherryl Clark, Zach Dean, Adam Kolbrenner, and Greg Goodman. Teller is also credited as an executive producer.
