Netflix has ordered “A Hundred Percent,” a half-hour comedy created by Nick Kroll that will star Kroll alongside Sam Richardson, Jason Mantzoukas and Vanessa Bayer, according to information released with the pickup.
The series targets the modern self-improvement economy. The official logline places the characters inside the “Thought Leader industrial complex,” a tight-knit friend group whose books, podcasts and optimized morning routines promise a better life to listeners while their off-mic lives remain messy. The premise frames them as podcasters building a brand, then tests what happens when their curated advice collides with real relationships and private habits.
Gabe Liedman will write, executive produce and serve as showrunner, with Kroll writing and executive producing alongside him. Max Joseph and Alex Plapinger will also executive produce. The pickup extends Kroll and Liedman’s long-running relationship at the streamer after their work together on “Big Mouth” and its spinoff “Human Resources,” a track record that has made Netflix comfortable betting on creator-driven comedy with a specific voice.
In a statement released with the order, Kroll said he was “thrilled” to make the show with Liedman and the cast and said he wants to explore a “high-functioning group of friends” living “weird lives.” Liedman, using his own metaphor for the moment, said he felt “especially lucky” to work with Kroll again and promised “something nuts to watch.”
The casting also reunites Kroll and Mantzoukas, who have shared comedy history dating back to “The League,” a series that has continued to draw reunion interest years after its run. Netflix did not announce a release window or episode count in the initial materials, keeping the focus on the concept, the ensemble and the creative team.
