That marks a sharp jump from earlier long-range tracking in January, when Boxoffice Pro placed the film in a $20 million to $40 million domestic opening range and flagged risks tied to cast changes, a three-year gap since Scream VI, and the shift away from the previous two films’ central storyline.
The market case for the sequel rests on a familiar engine: franchise recognition and returning legacy talent.
