Apple TV+’s The Studio claimed the International category at the 2026 BAFTA Television Awards in London on Sunday, completing a sweep of every major television prize in a single season — a feat no comedy series had ever achieved, and only the second show of any genre to accomplish after Shōgun in 2024.
The BAFTA win sealed a historic 12-month run for the Hollywood satire created by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, officially making it the most-awarded freshman comedy in television history. The victory also gave Apple TV+ its first win in the BAFTA International category and restored a comedy to the prize for the first time in a decade, since Transparent took it in 2016.
The show arrived in London already loaded with records. At the Primetime Emmy Awards, The Studio collected 13 wins, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor for Rogen — the most Emmy wins ever for a debut comedy. From there, it claimed Best Comedy Series and Best Actor at the Golden Globes, three Critics Choice Awards including Best Supporting Actor for Ike Barinholtz, and an American Film Institute honor for TV Program of the Year.
The Actor Awards (formerly the SAG Awards) delivered a clean sweep, with posthumous Outstanding Female Actor recognition going to Catherine O’Hara, who played producer Patty Leigh and died at 71 earlier this year. The show further collected top honors from the Producers Guild, Writers Guild, Directors Guild, and a string of craft organizations.
At the BAFTA podium, Rogen — who beat fellow Apple TV+ entries Severance and Pluribus to the prize — paused to honor O’Hara directly. “It would be remiss of me not to mention Catherine O’Hara,” he said. “She meant so much to us. I assume her work was as important to y’all over here as it was to us, so this is for Catherine.”
Apple TV+’s head of programming Matt Cherniss called the run “nothing short of astounding,” crediting “the extraordinary talent, creativity and innovation of Seth, Evan and the entire creative team and cast.”
