Actor Jessie Cave says the OnlyFans account she launched a year and a half ago to fix her house and clear debt has outearned her entire career in film and television. Cave, who played Lavender Brown across three “Harry Potter” installments, told The Times she initially expected the venture to bring in a few thousand pounds and last only a few months. Instead, she said, it has become the main financial engine keeping her family afloat, at one point bringing in £15,000 in a single day.
“I’ve earned more, easily, than my entire acting career within one year,” Cave said, adding that what began as a stopgap has stretched past 18 months and, in her words, genuinely saved her family. She charges subscribers $6 a month for access to her page, supplementing that income with paid direct messages.
Cave built the account around what she has described as non-sexual “hair content,” including recordings she calls hair sounds aimed at fans with a hair fetish, a niche she said grew organically out of the response her hair videos already drew on Instagram. She has said she avoids explicit material entirely, framing her presence on the platform around suggestion rather than nudity.
Describing the account’s tone, Cave said it includes cooking videos, tarot readings and personal training content alongside her core material, all delivered with what she called a sexy edge, and said the appeal for her was less about money at first and more about being seen again after years of feeling invisible following the birth of her four children.
Cave first announced the account in March 2025, framing it in a Substack essay as a one-year experiment aimed at making her home safe, covering renovations tied to old wallpaper and getting out of debt. She wrote at the time that the project also felt like a personal act of defiance against expectations placed on her as an actor, and joked that years spent at Harry Potter fan conventions may have inadvertently prepared her for the work.
She joins a small but growing group of established entertainers, including Cardi B, Lily Allen, Amber Rose and Drea de Matteo, who have used OnlyFans as a supplementary income stream alongside more traditional entertainment careers.
