In the wake of the latest patch for Diablo 4, the game’s developers are facing intense backlash from players, resulting in a significant drop in its Metacritic score.
Patch 1.1.0, which went live earlier this week ahead of Season 1, was met with widespread criticism, particularly due to nerfs that affected numerous builds and characters. The Sorcerer class, in particular, was deemed virtually useless prior to the patch, and players felt that it received an unwarranted blow from the changes.
Rolling Back Controversial Changes
One significant change that upset players was the introduction of level requirements for World Tiers 3 and 4, restricting access to level 40 and level 60 players respectively.
However, the developers quickly acknowledged the community’s discontent and announced that they would be rolling back these changes entirely. While the exact timing of the adjustments is yet to be confirmed, players can expect them to be implemented sooner rather than later.

In response to the unintended bugs introduced by the patch, the developers have assured the community that several fixes are on the way.
Notably, they will be addressing the issue related to the number of Aberrant Cinders dropped by Helltide Chests, which will come as welcome news for those tirelessly grinding the endgame content. Furthermore, the Hatred’s Chosen buff, which was temporarily removed due to exploits, has been re-enabled with the new hotfixes.
These course corrections by Blizzard come at a time when the player base has expressed increasing dissatisfaction with Diablo 4. The game’s user score on Metacritic currently stands at a dismal 3.0 out of 10, with a staggering 3,234 negative reviews. For over 24 hours, negative user reviews have dominated the platform, reflecting a deep disappointment among players.
