During this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, DC Comics concentrated on two of its blockbusters this year. Among them is Shazam! Fury of the Gods, the sequel to the surprise 2019 blockbuster. There are five months left until its release and the studio had finally decided to start promoting the film.
Its first trailer shows the return of the superhero team, a brand-new threat – Hespera played by Helen Mirren – and loads of spectacular action, along with humor poking fun at previous DC Comics productions. You can find the first trailer for the second part of Shazam below.
Sadly, despite rumors that have been swirling for some time, Henry Cavill’s comeback to the role of Superman was not announced during the panel.
However, one fan during the panel asked Zachary Levi about the matter, but the actor refused to divulge any details. “I can neither confirm nor deny these rumors,” he replied, while still leaving a door open that Clark Kent will appear in the film.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is directed by David F. Sandberg. In the cast are:: Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Faithe Herman, Grace Fulton, Ross Butler, Adam Brody, DJ Cotrona, Meagan Good, Djimon Hounsou and Michelle Borth, Lucy Liu, Helen Mirren and Rachel Zegler.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods will have its debut in theaters on December 21, 2022.
