Black Panther: Wakanda Forever debuted in theaters a week ago, making it another big hit for Marvel. This production did well in its opening weekend, establishing a new record for November.
Not all viewers were happy with the latest superhero production, however, and they criticized the second part of Black Panther, requesting the studio to bring back T’Challa.
Disney+ subscribers, in turn, wonder when they can expect the release of the new film. It appears that the production may appear in the platform’s library at the very start of next year.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – when will the film premiere on Disney+?
At present, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has no competition in theaters, and this won’t change for the next month, until the release of Avatar: Creature of Water.
It is predicted that with the arrival of the new James Cameron film, Marvel’s production audience numbers will also drop significantly, and this would be a signal for Disney to end its theatrical “run” and introduce the film to Disney+.
With this, the website The Direct reports that Black Panther 2 could appear on the service as early as January 1, 2023.
A different view is held by the Deadline website, which in its predictions reported that Disney would want to keep the Marvel film in theaters longer beyond the standard 45-day window.
Thus, there are no current plans for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will air on Disney+ late this year or early next year.
Things look different for Strange World, the latest Disney production, which would be coming to Disney+ after only a month in theaters and debuting on the platform during the holiday season.
The Thor: Love and Thunder came to the streaming service in celebration of Disney+ Day after 62 days after its theatrical release, with Doctor Strange’s multiverse of madness debuting after only 47 days.
We also had a long wait for the premieres of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals, both of which populated the Disney+ library after 70 and 68 days, consecutively.
Thus, it appears that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will share the same fate and subscribers will get the opportunity to see the film on January 10 at the earliest and January 20 next year at the latest. It is worth treating these calculations as speculation only, however.
