Death Stranding 2 was announced recently with a new trailer at The Game Awards 2022, which confirmed the return of some characters from the original game’s main cast in the new sequel.
The newcomers Elle Fanning and Shioli Kutsuna will be joining the cast, while the likes of Norman Reedus, Lea Seydox, and Troy Baker will reprise their roles. However, it appears that at least one character from the original game will not be returning in the sequel.
Heartman was a side character in Death Stranding, and though his character model is based on the likeness of Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn, he was voiced by Darren Jacobs.
As PlayStation Lifestyle reported, Jacobs recently revealed to fans on Twitter that he currently has no role in the sequel.
It is interesting to note that he has since deleted that tweet, so it’s possible that the character’s involvement in Death Stranding 2 is not yet final. Either way, for the time being it appears that Jacobs hasn’t been contacted by Kojima Productions.
Kojima Productions recently announced that a Death Stranding movie is also in the works. What do you think about this? Let us know in the comments section below.
