The remarkable success of Diablo 4 played a pivotal role in Blizzard’s financial triumph. Since its launch on June 6, the game shattered previous records within the Blizzard franchise, generating a staggering $666 million in sales within the first five days alone.
Furthermore, the financial report highlights that Diablo 4 has become the fastest-selling Blizzard game to date. In June, the number of players exceeded 10 million, collectively clocking in an astonishing 700 million hours of gameplay—an average of 70 hours per player.
Exact sales figures have not been disclosed by Activision-Blizzard. However, considering that Diablo 4 is not available through any subscription service and accounting for a minimum number of physical copies resold (given the predominance of digital sales in the market), it is likely that the total number of units sold is not significantly lower than the player count, possibly hovering around the 10 million mark or slightly less.
