Fans of the hit crime thriller “Dexter” will soon have an exclusive glimpse into serial murderer Dexter Morgan’s early days with the upcoming Paramount+ series “Dexter: Original Sin.”
Set in 1991 Miami, the 10-episode prequel will follow Dexter’s journey from a forensics student to a calculated vigilante assassin. Patrick Gibson will play the young Dexter, with Michael C. Hall reprising his role as the character’s inner narrative voice from the original series.
Christian Slater joins the cast as Dexter’s adoptive father, Harry Morgan, who is instrumental in directing his son’s developing dark tendencies. “You’ve got to blend in. “One wrong move will ruin your life, your sister’s, and mine,” Harry warns in the series teaser.
Gibson’s Dexter reacts with terrifying conviction, saying, “This is who I am and who I need to be. “Learning my code was only the beginning.”
Christina Milian plays Maria LaGuerta, Sarah Michelle Gellar plays CSI Chief Tanya Martin, and Patrick Dempsey plays Aaron Spencer, the commander of the murder division. The series will follow Dexter’s early days at the Miami Metro Police Department when he begins his forensics internship while secretly perfecting his deadly methods.
“Dexter: Original Sin,” produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios and executive produced by Clyde Phillips, will premiere on Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers on December 13. The traditional televised debut is set for December 15.
Exciting news for franchise fans: Plans for a possible sequel series, “Dexter: Resurrection,” are already being developed for 2025. This series promises to continue the complicated story of this legendary character.
