Saturday Night Live will return with a new episode on May 3, featuring Quinta Brunson as host and Benson Boone as musical guest. This marks Brunson’s second time hosting the NBC series, following her debut in April 2023.
The announcement was made during the April 12 broadcast, which featured Jon Hamm as host and Lizzo as musical guest. Kieran Culkin made an appearance during the monologue segment, continuing the show’s pattern of surprise cameos throughout its 50th season.
Brunson, the creator and star of ABC’s Abbott Elementary, previously used her opening monologue to share her long-standing interest in the show and to speak in support of teachers. Her return comes as SNL continues its anniversary season with a mix of returning hosts and first-time performers.
Benson Boone, a rising pop singer with a strong digital following, will make his first appearance on the show. He joins a lineup of music acts this season that includes Lizzo, Lady Gaga, Charli XCX, and others.
The current cast of Saturday Night Live includes Kenan Thompson, Chloe Fineman, Bowen Yang, Ego Nwodim, Heidi Gardner, Mikey Day, Colin Jost, Michael Che, and Sarah Sherman, alongside featured players and new additions such as Ashley Padilla, Jane Wickline, and Marcello Hernández.
No information has been released yet about the final two episodes of the season, which are scheduled for May 10 and May 17.
Saturday Night Live is broadcast live from Studio 8H at Rockefeller Center in New York City and is produced by Broadway Video in association with SNL Studios. Lorne Michaels serves as executive producer.
