Do you recall the buzz surrounding the highly anticipated full remake of the iconic Star Wars KOTOR? Unfortunately, recent indications suggest that we might not witness the game’s debut anytime soon, as developers continue to grapple with significant challenges during its development.
In 2021, we caught a glimpse of the first teaser for the revamped version of Star Wars KOTOR. However, since then, we have received little positive information about the game’s progress.
Reports from last year hinted at a halt in production and a transfer of development responsibilities to a new studio, but these changes have seemingly failed to bring about improvements to the project. It appears that the production still lacks the necessary support.
The uncertain fate of the Star Wars KOTOR Remake was brought up by industry insider Jeff Grubb during Giant Bomb’s podcast, where he expressed concerns that the game may never see the light of day.
Troubling Signs and Lack of Updates
(FYI) Jeff Grubb says "I don't think the KOTOR Remake will ever come out"
"We've got Ubisoft lineup for the next fiscal year and there's no mentioned of Prince of Persia: Remake at all."
"I still think PoP Remake will come out before KOTOR."

Adding to the apprehension surrounding the project, Ubisoft’s recent financial reports make no mention of the highly criticized Prince of Persia remake.
This raises eyebrows, especially considering that the Star Wars KOTOR Remake was initially slated to release before the aforementioned title, leaving fans eager for news on its progress. Yet, Saber Interactive, the studio behind the remake, has remained silent, failing to provide any substantial updates on the game’s development.
Given the cult status of the original Star Wars KOTOR among gamers, the announcement of a full remake generated immense excitement. However, the current state of the production has left fans uncertain about its future.
It’s worth noting that Ubisoft has another Star Wars title in the works, which may offer an alternative experience for enthusiasts of the Star Wars universe. As the release date for Ubisoft’s project approaches, fans eagerly await further news.
