The Chinese game industry is accelerating every month. The developers and publishers from the Middle Kingdom, who began their careers in the smartphone market, have increasing appetites and ambitions and are attempting to bring their projects to consoles.
Genshin Impact from miHoYo is a good example of such ambitions. Yet another action RPG that might mix heavily in global markets is Honor of Kings: World.
The game was first written about in October 2021 and yesterday Tencent published a trailer with the first gameplay. It shows off the graphics very well, which are on a higher level than most low- and mid-budget jRPGs from Japan.
Impressions of Honor of Kings: World from these gameplay snippets cobbled into the trailer are very positive. Very much freedom of exploration of the sandbox world, dynamic battles, and interestingly designed monsters – it could work!
Tencent has not yet given a release date, but it is known that the TiMi Studio team’s game will hit consoles ( we can safely assume that it is about PS5 and XSX/XSS; what about weaker/older platforms is not yet known) and PC.
TiMI Studio’s team is obviously benefiting in this case from the huge success of Honor of Kings, a smartphone title (iOS, Android) that has enjoyed incredible popularity – not just in China.
Since 2015, The project has achieved results in the vicinity of 100 million daily active users, making it one of the highest-grossing mobile games in history.
