‘The Finals’ Gets Tactical with ‘Terminal Attack,’ a Call of Duty-Inspired Game Mode

Embark Studios, the developer behind the critically acclaimed first-person shooter ‘The Finals,’ is set to shake up the game’s meta with the introduction of ‘Terminal Attack,’ a brand-new, limited-time mode arriving with Season 2 on May 2. Inspired by the iconic Search and Destroy mode from the ‘Call of Duty’ franchise, ‘Terminal Attack’ promises to deliver an intense, high-stakes experience for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox players.

In ‘Terminal Attack,’ two teams of five will go head-to-head in a best-of-seven-rounds showdown, with the Attackers tasked with delivering a Decryption Key to a terminal and depositing cash, while the Defenders must fortify and protect the terminal at all costs. However, the mode’s unique twist lies in its unforgiving nature – “No healing. No revives. One life.”

As the trailer for ‘Terminal Attack’ boldly proclaims, players will have only a single life per round, heightening the tension and forcing teams to rely on strategic coordination and precise execution. The dynamic destruction mechanics that ‘The Finals’ is known for will play a pivotal role, as fortifying the terminal room may not be enough, as even the floor itself can be demolished.

The introduction of ‘Terminal Attack’ marks a significant milestone for ‘The Finals,’ as Embark Studios continues to expand the game’s offerings and cater to the demands of its passionate community. The mode’s clear inspiration from ‘Call of Duty’s’ beloved Search and Destroy experience is a nod to the enduring popularity of tactical, high-stakes gameplay modes within the first-person shooter genre.

Embark Studios’ decision to introduce ‘Terminal Attack’ as a limited-time mode suggests that the developers are closely monitoring player feedback and gauging the community’s reception before potentially incorporating it as a permanent addition to the game’s roster.

For fans of ‘The Finals’ and those seeking an adrenaline-fueled, one-life experience akin to ‘Call of Duty’s’ Search and Destroy, ‘Terminal Attack’ promises to be a thrilling endeavor. The mode’s emphasis on strategic gameplay, precise execution, and unforgiving consequences for mistakes is sure to appeal to hardcore first-person shooter enthusiasts and those seeking a new challenge within the dynamic world of ‘The Finals.’

As Season 2 approaches, anticipation builds for the arrival of ‘Terminal Attack,’ a mode that could potentially redefine the meta and breathe new life into ‘The Finals’ for both its dedicated player base and newcomers alike. With its clear homage to a beloved ‘Call of Duty’ game mode, ‘Terminal Attack’ is poised to capture the hearts of fans seeking an intense, high-stakes experience within the ever-evolving world of first-person shooters.
