The latest rumor comes from billbil-kun, a proven industry leaker who has accurately revealed details like the recently announced Until Dawn remake/remaster. According to their post on Dealabs, the Astro Bot project is being developed by Team Asobi, the studio behind the critically-acclaimed Astro’s Playroom pack-in title on PS5.
While light on specifics, the leak suggests the game will simply be titled “Astro Bot” and will introduce a new fennec fox-inspired robot character alongside the returning lead. One area is also described as featuring a sprawling desert environment.
Notably, billbil-kun states this is expected to be a full PS5 release rather than a PSVR2 title, contrary to Astro Bot’s virtual reality origins in the previous Rescue Mission and Challenge games.
