You’re not gonna believe who almost joined the cast of Deadpool & Wolverine! Ryan Reynolds, the star of the new Marvel movie, spilled some behind-the-scenes secrets in a recent interview. He said Jordan Peele, the Get Out dude, was one of the first people they asked to be in the film.
Reynolds is a huge fan of Peele’s work. “Everything that guy does is so awesome,” Reynolds said. He thinks Peele doesn’t always get enough credit for how talented he is. While they wanted him for the movie, apparently their schedules just didn’t match up. But Reynolds made it sound like they really tried to find a way to make it work.
Even though it didn’t pan out this time, Reynolds hopes he and Peele might team up for something else down the road. “I don’t care what role he played – I just think it would be so cool to collaborate with him,” Reynolds said. You’ve gotta respect an actor who admires another actor’s talents that much.
Peele has definitely proven himself in suspenseful films like Get Out and Us. He went from being one half of a comedy duo to making critically-acclaimed horror flicks. Reynolds knows a rising star when he sees one.
So while we can only imagine what kind of character Peele might have played in the new superhero movie, the buzz is real for Deadpool & Wolverine. Not only is it the only Marvel movie coming to theaters this year, but it marks Deadpool’s big entry to the wider Marvel universe plus Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine. Fans won’t want to miss it!
During his chat with the reporter, Jackman also expressed interest in teaming up with the Hulk someday. “Can you imagine the Big Green dude throwing Wolverine around?” he joked. Even Ryan Reynolds piped up saying he thinks he’d be a better Hulk than Mark Ruffalo. Gotta love how those guys kid around with each other.
When Deadpool & Wolverine premieres, it’s sure to be filled with cameos and fun surprises – even if Jordan Peele isn’t one of them in the end. But maybe someday we’ll see him in the Marvel world after all, whether as an actor or behind the scenes. Only time will tell what’s ahead for Peele and the ever-growing Marvel Cinematic Universe!
