Despite the game’s popularity, Galante and his team have different plans for the future of the franchise. While they could easily provide new content and mechanics within the existing game, creating a sequel or a “spiritual successor” would require a complete overhaul with innovative and fresh ideas.
Galante said in an interview with GameSpot, “With the way we designed Vampire Survivors, we can deliver both new content and mechanics to an existing game, so why make a sequel? I think if we were to create a sequel or a spiritual successor, we should offer something radically new to the players.”
Fans may be disappointed by this news, but it also indicates the studio’s commitment to delivering quality gaming experiences that push boundaries and challenge expectations.
