Gaming enthusiasts, prepare to be amazed! A speedrunner, under the moniker Mae, has achieved an extraordinary feat by completing Baldur’s Gate 3 in a mere 10 minutes.

The triumphant achievement, captured in an Any% speedrun video uploaded to YouTube, showcases both the prowess of the player and the intricacies of mastering the game’s mechanics.

Mae’s spectacular achievement now stands as the world record for completing Baldur’s Gate 3 in the shortest span of time. The astonishing 10-minute and three-second endeavor have left the gaming community astounded. But how exactly was this extraordinary feat accomplished?

The strategy involves using a combination of Gale, a prominent character in the game, and an abundance of jumping maneuvers. Mae capitalizes on Gale’s abilities and leverages smart positioning to navigate through the game with unparalleled speed. This method of swift traversal is aptly matched by Mae’s own name, which seems to reflect the mastery of jumping mechanics.

A Quick Conclusion: A Sneak Peek into Speedrunning Strategy

However, it’s worth noting that Mae’s speedrun doesn’t encompass the entirety of the game. The strategy involves exploiting a specific choice presented in the game’s second act that effectively serves as an ending – albeit not the full narrative.

Speedrunners adopt the persona of Gale, racing through the game while carefully sidestepping crucial moments and conversations. The ultimate objective? Reaching the early ending in the shortest time possible.

Mae’s triumphant journey is marked by leaps and bounds, both figuratively and literally. By casting Enhanced Leap on Gale, the player deftly maneuvers through the game’s challenges, defying gravity in a manner reminiscent of the Hulk.

The game’s battle confrontations are tactfully bypassed through clever positioning and stealth tactics. Spells like Ice Knife are wielded to eliminate enemies swiftly, contributing to the speedrun’s remarkable efficiency.

Beyond 10 Minutes: Other Notable Achievements

Mae’s record-breaking speedrun isn’t their only claim to fame. The speedrunner has also achieved an impressive feat in a “Sex Any%” speedrun. This category measures how quickly one can reach a romantic encounter within the game. Mae’s skill shines once again, accomplishing this task in under eight minutes, with Lae’zel being the chosen partner.

Mae’s exceptional achievement mirrors the broader gaming community’s penchant for exploration and mastery. The method used to achieve the early ending, which contributed to Mae’s swift victory, may explain the high number of players who reached this conclusion within the game’s initial weekend, as revealed by developer Larian’s statistics.

These insights provide a fascinating window into the multifaceted world of Baldur’s Gate 3, where speed, strategy, and creativity converge to redefine what’s possible within the virtual realm.
