Mojang Studios and Blackbird Interactive took the stage at the Developer_Direct event last night to reveal new and exciting information about the upcoming spin-off game, Minecraft Legends.
The game is set to be a blend of action and strategy, and fans of the Minecraft franchise will finally get to experience a story-based campaign where they can explore a world filled with treasures and dangers. Along the way, players will encounter familiar mobs, such as piglins, as well as new and mysterious characters to fight alongside.
The game will officially be available on April 18, 2023 and will be released simultaneously on a wide range of platforms including PC (Windows, Steam), Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. This means that players on both Sony and Nintendo consoles will not be left out of the fun.
One of the most exciting new features of Minecraft Legends is the addition of a player-versus-player (PvP) mode. This is the first time a PvP mode has been included in the Minecraft franchise. Up to four players can join forces and compete against another team for victory.
The gameplay combines elements of action and real-time strategy games, as players will have to build a base, gather resources, and ultimately raid the enemy’s fortress.
The map is randomly generated, providing a lot of variety and players will have to fight neutral piglins opponents. The aim of the game is to defend your own base and destroy your opponent’s. A new trailer is also available for further impressions.
