Star Wars Jedi 3 in the Works? Director Suggests Possible Trilogy

Get ready for an exciting adventure with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the upcoming sequel to 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, set to release this spring. But there might be even more excitement on the horizon.

The director of the game series, Stig Asmussen, recently shared some interesting news in an interview with IGN’s US editorial team. He hinted that the story of Cal Kestis may not end with just two games and that he would like to make Star Wars Jedi a trilogy.

According to Asmussen, discussions were held about the possibility of a third installment even before the release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

“We were discussing the second part. In fact, our plans went even further. When we introduced this story to the Lucasfilm team, we started to think about where we would direct the plot of the second part?” said Asmussen.

Asmussen also shared his desire to do a trilogy, stating, “I’ve always wanted to do a trilogy. How will Cal and the other characters develop beyond what we introduced in the first game?”

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Has Been Postponed

While there is no official announcement yet about the third installment, Asmussen’s comments suggest that Respawn Entertainment is open to the idea. However, creating a trilogy will not be an easy feat.

Asmussen revealed that the team had to make significant changes to the mechanics of the game for the second part, and feedback from players will ultimately determine what elements would need to be introduced for a potential third installment.

In the meantime, players can look forward to the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on April 28, 2023. The game picks up five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and follows Cal’s journey in an increasingly dark galaxy.

As one of the last Jedi Knights, Cal must face old and new threats while struggling to protect his crew and the legacy of the Jedi Order.

The game promises to be an exciting experience for fans of the franchise, with a cinematic combat system that includes new Force abilities and lightsaber combat styles. Players can combine these skills and weapons to prepare different strategies to fight a variety of enemies and solve puzzles along the way.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, and will offer players the opportunity to explore new planets and familiar locations in the Star Wars galaxy.

With new skills, equipment, and abilities to discover, players can venture off the beaten path to uncover hidden rewards.

As we eagerly await the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, we can only hope that Asmussen’s vision of a trilogy comes to fruition, and that Cal Kestis’ story continues to captivate players for years to come.
