John Reardon, an actor known for his roles in Hallmark Channel movies and the Canadian show “Hudson & Rex,” reported on December 24 that he had made a full recovery from tonsil cancer. Two different photos—one from his time in the hospital and one from a recent trip after his recovery—were posted on social media by the 49-year-old to show his emotional journey.
Reardon, who played the lead in this year’s “Believe in Christmas,” said that his first public appearance after treatment was a big deal. He was thankful for the constant support he got from his family and hospital staff during his ordeal. Writing, “It’s been a long road between these two pictures,” he stressed how important his support system was to his recovery.
His wife, actress Meghan Ory, known for her parts in Hallmark movies, was very important to him while he was sick. While he was getting better, she took care of their house. Reardon’s dad took him for walks daily and pushed him to stay active even when it was hard to get out of bed. To help him keep his strength, his mother made him healthy meals like soups and ginger honey tea.
Later, on social media, Ory paid homage to her husband and praised his strength. She wrote, “This man inspires me every day with his strength and kindness,” pointing out how brave he was in the face of terrible pain. She was happy that he didn’t have cancer and called him “my hero.”
Reardon admitted that the support system he had worked with during his recovery. His siblings, Dr. Laura Reardon and Marc Reardon, helped with daily chores and caring for the kids. He also thanked his in-laws, neighbors, and family nanny for helping him in real ways, like bringing him food and sending him positive texts.
The star was very thankful to the doctors and nurses caring for him. During his treatment, he thanked the nurses, doctors, and techs for their support. Reardon has played Detective Charlie Hudson on “Hudson & Rex” since 2019. The show will be back for a seventh season in 2025.
Finally, Reardon discussed the importance of kindness and encouraged others to value and spread it. He said kindness is “an underappreciated quality” that has the power to transform lives.
