Netflix set October 30, 2025 for The Witcher season 4 and released the first substantial footage of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia, marking his debut after Henry Cavill’s exit. The new clip arrives with fresh images and a date reveal as the fantasy drama moves into its penultimate chapter.
The footage shows Geralt battling a wraith and switching from steel to Signs, blasting the specter back with Aard before trapping it in Yrden, a sequence meant to underline continuity in the character’s combat style even with a new lead. First-look materials also spotlight returning principals Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) and Freya Allan (Ciri) and introduce Laurence Fishburne as Regis, a worldly barber-surgeon from the books.
All eight episodes are slated to arrive the same day, according to coverage that accompanied the teaser. A brief synopsis frames the season in the aftermath of continent-spanning conflict, with Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri scattered, chased by enemies, and leaning on unexpected allies that form new “found families” as they try to reunite.
Behind the scenes, producers have positioned season 4 and a previously announced season 5 as a two-part closing run, filmed back-to-back to complete the adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s remaining novels. The streamer emphasized that Hemsworth will carry the role through both seasons, while creative leadership pointed to a refreshed take on the series’ tone and scale as it nears its endpoint.
