Amazon has set 17 September 2025 for the return of Gen V, dropping the first three episodes on Prime Video in more than 240 territories and then rolling out weekly instalments until the finale on 22 October. The date was revealed during a CCXP Mexico panel whose sizzle reel positioned the college-based Boys spin-off alongside marquee titles such as Fallout and The Rings of Power. A teaser posted moments later confirmed the split-launch structure and showed Godolkin University under new dean “Cipher,” portrayed by Hamish Linklater.
Seven principal cast members are back, including Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann and Sean Patrick Thomas, according to official first-look photos shared in March. Collider adds that Patrick Schwarzenegger’s Golden Boy will appear only in flashbacks, while no actor will step into the shoes of Andre Anderson following Chance Perdomo’s death. Show-runner Michele Fazekas told reporters the writers “re-charted character arcs” to honour Perdomo instead of recasting.
Production wrapped in Toronto last October after a two-week pause for lead Jaz Sinclair’s leg injury, leaving nearly a year for visual-effects work. Series creator Eric Kripke recently posted that post-production is “locked and loading” and teased direct ties to events unfolding in The Boys Season 5. TheWrap notes that Prime Video wants the autumn slot to mirror university term dates and capture student viewers during mid-semester breaks.
Marketing is already leveraging TikTok clips of the trailer’s blood-splattered campus riot, while Instagram’s @primevideoin touted the slogan “new year, new U” to more than 12 million followers. Analysts expect the date to keep the superhero franchise in conversation between July’s The Boys finale and December’s Invincible special, extending Amazon’s strategy of year-round comic-book programming.
