Two key actors are set to leave the CBS crime drama “FBI” after this season. Sources close to the show confirmed that Katherine Renee Kane and Ebonee Noel will both exit their roles. Kane has portrayed Special Agent Tiffany Wallace since season three. Noel previously played Special Agent Kristen Chazal.
Kane’s character Tiffany Wallace will appear in at least one more episode this season before saying goodbye. As a dedicated and respected agent, Wallace became a fans’ favorite over the past few seasons. Producers did not share the specific reasons for Kane’s departure.
To fill the opening left by Kane, CBS has cast Lisette Olivera in a new leading role. Olivera is known for her previous work in the Disney+ series “National Treasure: Edge of History.” She will play Special Agent Syd, who is joining the Behavioral Analysis Unit after working in other positions. Syd is expected to become Agent Stuart Scola’s new partner following Wallace’s exit.
By studying criminal behavior, Syd brings unique profiling skills. A source said her experience could offer new perspectives that drive the show’s stories forward. While not related to the TV series “Criminal Minds,” Syd’s background analyzing minds may shake up the team’s approach. Producers teased Syd has a complex personality and diverse background aiding her transition to field work.
After its sixth season finale in May, “FBI” is gearing up to return in mid-October with new faces. Throughout the transitions, the show continues exploring the daily lives of the FBI’s criminal department in New York City. Viewers will watch how the changes of losing Kane and gaining Olivera affect group dynamics in the upcoming season.
