An important update has emerged for players eagerly anticipating the release of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty on the PlayStation 5. CD Projekt Red, the developer behind the iconic title, recently shared this news, which pertains specifically to those who purchased the bundled version of Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty.
The announcement, made on September 25, brings both good and not-so-pleasant news for fans. First and foremost, for regular PS5 users who purchased Phantom Liberty separately, the option to pre-load the expansion is now available. However, for those who opted for the bundle that combines the base game and Phantom Liberty, pre-loading is unfortunately not an option.
This means that when the release times for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty arrive, players with the bundle on PS5 will need to wait until then to initiate the download for both the base game and the expansion.

The Phantom Liberty expansion itself weighs in at a substantial 33GB for PS5 players. Considering the recent 2.0 update added 25GB to the game’s size, the total size of the game and expansion could well exceed 100GB in total.
In addition to the pre-loading limitation, there’s also a note of caution regarding the availability of the “pre-order Quadra” vehicle for PlayStation users when they first boot up Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty on September 26.
The Quadra Sport R-7 “Vigilante” vehicle is an exclusive pre-order bonus that players can access by pre-ordering either the expansion or the bundle, available on both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
